Tea (green or Lady Grey)Do you tend to mark your books while you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
Depends what I am reading and why. Fiction no. Non-fiction I may stick post-its notes on pages. I haven't yet started using bookmarking and annotations on the Kindle. How do you keep your place? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book open flat?
Bookmarks if I can find one. I have so many my favourite is a Birth of Venus bookmark that my boyfriend bought back from Italy last year.Fiction, non-fiction or both?
Both for leisure mostly crochet/craft/cook books and crime/horror/fantasy fiction. Do you tend to read to the end of a chapter or can you stop anywhere?
I can stop anywhere but I do prefer to finish the chapter if I can.Are you the type of person to throw a book across the room or on the floor if the author irritates you?
I used to throw horror books away so I couldn't see them when frightened. If the author irritates me now I get back at them by not finishing the book.If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and look it up right away?
No I try and work it out by context if that doesn't work I will look it up if I have the laptop or iPhone handy. What are you currently reading?

How do you organize your books (by genre, title, author’s last name, etc.)?
I don't really. I have piles by the bed. Craft books in my studio. Cook books in the kitchen. Miscellaneous things on the shelves in the living room. I have piles of work related reading on the table in my office too.
Barbara’s additional question: background noise or silence?
Doesn't matter
