Kikurangi - little blue-faced crobot

I made this robot for a fellow crafter who I met through Etsy. He is based on a crobot from the fabulous book Crobots: 20 amigurumi robots to make. One of these little guys takes about 1.5 hours to make from start to finish. The fun is in accessorising.

Kikurangi means blue in Maori. I think it suits him.

Queue at MIFF & Really subversive craft

Queuing is a big part of attending any film festival. I went to see Anna Brownfield's Making it handmade a wonderful doco about crafting subculture in Melbourne. Check out Anna's blog post to learn more about the movie. If you get a chance to see it do. Some keywords about the movie to leave you with: subversive, crafty, thought-provoking and enpowering. The doco features some amazing women who craft for many different reasons.

Check out: Kaotic Kraft Kuties | Meet me at Mikes | Craft Cartel | Radical Cross Stitch if you want to read the blogs of some of those featured in the doco. Now I seriously want to join another craft group I wish there we more westside and thinking about how to get more subversive with my craft.
